Donations are exempted under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
Transaction details & receipt
When you donate by bank transfer / Google Pay / PhonePe / UPI, we do not always receive the donor's full details.
- 🏦 When a donation is paid from a bank account, sometimes we only see the name.
- 📱 When a donation is paid by UPI methods such as Google Pay / PhonePe / UPI, for some transactions we may not even know who the donor is, we may see only the date, time and amount of the payment.
Because of this, even though you have donated, if we do not receive the donor details and transaction information, it becomes difficult to confirm whose donation it is and to issue a receipt.
- As soon as you donate, please send us your transaction details (UTR / transaction ID, amount and date) with the Send transaction details form on this website. If you are unable to use the form, you can send the details on WhatsApp to +91 44-4335 8232.
- Within 24 hours of your donation, an acknowledgement / message confirming receipt of the donation is sent by SMS, Email and WhatsApp.
- After that, the donation details are verified and the receipt is usually sent by WhatsApp within 3 to 5 working days.
If, even though you have donated, any of the following happens, we may not have received your donation details:
- ❌ no acknowledgement arrives within 24 hours
- ❌ no message arrives by SMS / Email / WhatsApp
- ❌ no receipt is received within 3-5 working days
In that case, please contact us and send the transaction screenshot / transaction details.
As soon as we receive your donation details, we will verify them and immediately take steps to issue the receipt.

🙏 The cooperation of our donors helps us carry out our work well and transparently.
We ask for this information only so that a proper acknowledgement and receipt can be issued for every donation you make. In addition, at the end of every financial year, donor details are submitted to the Income Tax Department through Form 10BD. Once the details have been submitted, we cannot make changes to the donation details such as name, PAN or amount. So we kindly request you to check your receipt and donation details in good time.

How can I donate?
You can donate in person at the office or at the Nithya Deepa Dharmachalai. You can also give rice and groceries needed for Annadhanam.
Those who cannot come in person can send a cheque / demand draft (DD) in the name of Deepam Trust to the office address.
You can transfer money directly to the Deepam Trust bank account or pay by UPI; the details are on our Donate page. You can also book Annadhanam online.
How much can I donate?
The cost of one day's Annadhanam is given on this page. For our other social services, educational aid, medical aid, rice aid, clothing aid, livelihood aid, etc., you are welcome to donate as much as you are able and wish to!
Will a receipt be given for donations?
Yes. The receipt will be sent by post to your address within 5 working days.

Can I get income tax exemption?
It is a charitable organisation with income tax exemption under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
Can I donate in foreign currency?
Donations cannot be made in foreign currency.
